Vet Tech Building Renovation Completed Right Before Winter

MnKhan Architects is happy to announce the construction completion of LEED Gold certified Cedar Valley Veterinary Technology building’s long needed remodeling in fall of 2018.

The renovations improved the Dog Kennel’s temperature control by replacing the temporary exterior wall with insulated wall. Most importantly, the four legged residents are enjoying the thermostat controlled heated floor with skid resistant coating installed right before winter. A dedicated exhaust fan is venting the Anatomy and Pathology Lab chemical odor out by creating a chase punching through two floors to the roof. The Large Animal Radiology room has been modified to marine grade. A stall next to radiology has been converted to a horse isolation with washable cushioned flooring and a custom designed steel double dutch door.

The team came together to solve different challenges, exceeded the standard set by the college and developed a great relationship with the facilities project managers and the educators of Dallas County Community College District.

“Ms. Khan’s timely attention and systematic approach to details and problem solving on behalf of the staff was more than expected. She has been an inspiration to the staff in DCCCD Facilities Management because of her fresh approach and timeliness.”
