Self Center Spa

SELF CENTER SPA | DFW AIRPORT, TEXAS

Square Footage: 1,400 Terminal E
Firm's Role Prime: Architect of Record

Located in the heart of DFW Airport Terminal E, the Self Center Spa is a1,400-square-foot Urban Oasis designed to provide a high-end reprieve for the weary traveler. Recognizing the physical and mental toll of long-haul flights and crowded gate seating, the design prioritizes sensory restoration and deep relaxation.

DESIGN CONCEPT: AN ESCAPE FROM THE TERMINAL
The spa serves as a direct visual and atmospheric contrast to the bright, sterile environment of the airport. Key design elements include:
• Intricate Woodwork: Custom laser-cut panels in rich, dark wood tones wrap the space, providing a sense of warmth and privacy.
• Ambient Lighting: A meticulously layered soft-lighting scheme replaces harsh terminal glares with a calming glow, immediately lowering the heart rate of guests upon entry.
• Textural Contrast: The use of "laser cut" wood finishes and tactile materials creates a grounded, premium feel.

ELEVATED WELLNESS SERVICES
The compact yet efficient layout accommodates a full suite of rejuvenating treatments, including professional massages, facials, and specialized skin and hair care services. Whether travelers have a brief layover or a long delay, the Self Center Spa offers a vital "reset button," allowing them to board their next flight feeling refreshed and revitalized.
