Dallas Lease Return is an indoor car showroom with a unique operating strategy. They lowered the overhead by teaming up with affiliated leasing companies to offer off lease vehicles direct to public for 21 days. MnKhan Architects was hired to convert an 80,000 SF 1980s warehouse in Addison to a trendy open car display and sales facility. About 8,000 Sf of the renovated space is occupied by the customer lobby, seating and offices. The rest of the floor area is occupied by rows and rows of car display ranging from upscale brands to very affordable models. The drop in ceiling and carpeted small offices were converted to high ceiling open spaces. The flooring has been restored to be polished concrete. The display area is very green with the use of evenly spread LED lighting and large exhaust fans and open doors mechanically ventilating the space. The owners are very happy with the design and thinks that the comfort and well lit spaces are helping to boost their sales.
